YMCA swimming lessons offer a unique style of fun. Our lessons are more than just stroke development. They also include personal safety, sports & games, rescue skills all taught with an emphasis on the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Whether it’s gaining confidence from learning to swim or building positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in aquatics at the Y is about building the whole person, from the inside out.We offer summer swim lessons, water aerobics, scuba, and swim teams throughout the county in collaboration with the City of Stockton's Parks & Rec Services. These courses serve 6 months through adults at all skill levels.  Beyond the basics, we offer YMCA junior life guard training and life guard training. Our life guard training includes the water front component as part of the regular course as well as first aid, CPR and oxygen administration.

”It has been great having the girls in your class. I love the way you are teaching them character and citizenship qualities along with swimming skill. As a child I attended YMCA camps… It was such a wonderful surprise to see you having the same influence on my three girls.” Marci Morden - Parent
